Meet ShopstarDJ

From deep soul music on the decks to the soft, swift technique of mixing without a trace of the previous track on the ear; smooth mixing is what this dude is about. This week’s feature is a prodigious DJ and a talented younker from the small town of KwaMhlanga in Mpumalanga. Ladies and Gentlemen: Shopstar.

Before the recognition, Shopstar fell in love with the technique of mixing and was later introduced to the game by the Loud Mouf Entertainments - A crew of DJ's from his hometown, they include: 4tune, Laydees, Sindicate, Siphiwe & Dex The Magician who taught him the basics of the art of mixing. He then went further on his own with the support of his hometown which put him on greater heights as a DJ. He fell in love with music at an early age and then, he mastered it, look at him today! He took his time to master his art of music and studied Music Theory at UNISA. He has never looked back from then and went straight on doing what he does best.

Opening a music company - African Soil Entertainments, he’s started hosting events and has gone deeper into the house music scene.

What inspires this young man to keep going is his love and passion for music and the art of mixing, which he has learnt to master over time. 

He has played alongside the likes of Lulo Café, Shimza, Vinny Da Vinci, Christos, Funk Deepstar, Da Capo, Brazo Wa Afrika, Darque, Lele X, Menthol Deep, Shaun Dee and the list goes on and on... and these are mostly prominent names, mind you. He's played at several venues and events across the country. With aspirations for the future this up and coming talented DJ is up in arms for the challenges ahead.
