It is believed that the older wine is, the better it tastes and this is no exception when it comes to music. This week’s DJ proves that sentiment extends to artists as well. With that said, we would like to introduce you to Mlungisi Twala.
Ever since the year of 2000 Mlungisi Twala has had a keen interest in music. He started playing records in 2008 with local DJ’s and he’s played at various parties during 2008 to 2009. He then found the club scene during the latter till 2010. Mlungisi has developed his knowledge of house music by working with the likes of Spinnaboyz and he’s shared the decks with a range of talented DJ’s. With the influence of the legacy of Chicago House, Detroit techno and Old Skool house music in South Africa.
He is generally known for spinning educational house mixes and he is not limited to any dance music genre. Combining deep house, soulful vocals, techno and funky instruments with some bass & drum, he has the ability to put a crowd into a party mood and can up a club’s reputation. His musical style reflects the future of the house music scene in South Africa and he is on a process of releasing his first EP in the coming years.
