Ntwana Kasi Keep Pushing! @N_K_K_P

So we managed to get a one-on-one with the fellas from NKKP, who are an NPO and have done a substantial amount of work all in the name of a good course. Read this as they tell us about their initiative; this is what they told us.

By the way, they are selling hoodies you can buy to help them raise funds to support the disadvantaged communities in South Africa. I won't spoil it for you, you can read the interview we had with them below.
What is NKKP about?
The abbreviation and brand name that is known as NKKP is in full: Ntwana Kasi Keep Pushing, and it is a vernacular phrase born from the township streets of Pretoria and is directly translated into: Township/Ghetto kid keep pushing and “pushing” refers to overcoming the odds life throws at one growing up in the townships. The negative influences a typical township/“kasi” kid/“ntwana” faces can derail him or her from the path of education and entrepreneurial success through self-employment. Thus prompting the creation of the NKKP movement. Through NKKP branded clothing which represents the “kasi” kid who wears this brand, he or she strives to achieve. The brand is also about hosting motivational events (through physical presence and online daily social media interaction) for the youth of the province from the local townships, who at the same time are studying or hustling out there in the big cities such as Pretoria and Johannesburg. The aim is that the youth do this while wearing the NKKP brand, showing where they come from as they strive to succeed and also in a way motivating high school pupils, more over matriculants in disadvantaged township high schools through motivating them and imparting knowledge on them about  possible careers to follow after high school, available study financing options as well as teaching them the manner in which to handle the transition to a higher learning institution or a workplace environment and the struggles of life and how to avoid and or face them when they occur.

Who is part of NKKP?
NKKP was founded late January in 2012 by Reabetswe Malema, Reaipela Moroke and Kagiso Ntloedibe upon reaching consensus that this brand could become a movement that would serve a purpose of motivating the youth of Pretoria via daily quotes and motivational words across the social media platforms and also a movement that could help raise funds for old age homes and orphanages in the townships. However, over 2012 and the first quarter of 2013 the youth came to love the brand and suggested a clothing line to it which they could associate themselves with. It is in early April 2013 that one of the founders (Reabetswe Malema) went forth and developed a clothing line. With a business perspective that led to him partnering with Keletso Mphalhele and Boipelo Mabusela (current business partners) who are developing the brand’s first clothing line (winter hoodies, beanies and scarves) due for release and item sale as of 31 May 2013.

NKKP and the community thus far.
Up to this point and over the past year NKKP has come to put plans in motion about giving back to the community as of June 2013, moving onwards as soon as the clothing line is afloat. The business aspect has been covered and is set to launch, and will in certain ways be a support system to the giving back aspect of this motivational and yet charitable brand and movement.

The future of NKKP and what to be expected from this brand over the next 2 years.
The future is ever so bright for this beautiful and growing brand as it plans as per its founders to get into mainstream garment trading of branded clothing besides the current winter range that is to be released, but also a Spring/Summer collection with the aim of developing a competitive edge and acquiring a market share amongst other established brands that the country’s youth resonate with. The next two years will see the brand evolving to become a household name in the motivational speaking and events arena to the youth throughout the country and if possible beyond borders.
